Well, here I am again. This is Senior Salute No. 2 for me. For those of you who are unfamiliar with my situation, here it is in a nutshell. Since September, I have been living in Evanston, IL, learning to become a Nuclear Medicine Technologist. I decided to take this internship the fall of my junior year and knew I was going to giving up my senior season of softball as a result. Then this past February, I received a call from coach Fennern inviting me to rejoin the team for any of the games that I could attend. That’s how I ended up back in Cardinal Red. It’s been quite an adventure. I’ve racked up about 3,000 miles on my car just from driving back and forth to Winona in the past couple of months, but it has been totally worth it.

I want to start by thanking my parents who supported my decision to return to the team. It would have been difficult to continue playing without their support. They also made it possible for me to make the trip every weekend by lending me a car. Thank you for everything, Mom and Dad, I love you guys so much.

Next, I’d like to thank Coach Fennern for giving me this opportunity and allowing me back on the team like I had never left. It has been an honor to be coached by you for one last season.

Lastly I’d like to thank my fellow seniors, Jackie, Niki and Gonerka. It has been such a privilege to play with you guys for the past four years. It’s been an awesome experience.

To the rest of the SMU softball team, it has great to play with and get to know everyone as much as I have in the past couple of months. Good luck in the upcoming seasons.

GO BULLDOGS!!
