Schmitt earns a repeat spot on All-MIAC First Team
The most important one. For the second year in a row, Schmitt was named to the All-Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference First Team, it was announced Monday. Schmitt started all 10 conference games for the Cardinals, scoring four goals and adding an assist for nine points. Schmitt's four goals ranked No. 5 in the MIAC, while his nine points were sixth. Overall, Schmitt was the team's leader in all three offensive categories, collecting nine goals and four assists for 22 points. Schmitt's nine goals were one shy of his career high and his 22 points were a career best. Schmitt closed out his four-year collegiate career with 26 goals, ranking him No. 2 all-time, 10 goals behind SMU Hall of Famer Jerad Rassmussen. Terrence Coonan (Fort Wayne, Ind.), meanwhile, was the Cardinals' selection to the All-MIAC Sportsmanship Team. As part of a conference-wide sportsmanship initiative, members of the All-MIAC Sportsmanship team are selected by their coaches and teammates as individuals who demonstrate ideals of positive sportsmanship both on and off the field of competition. |
