John Brown |
| John is quite a character. He has a personality that is like no other I have coached. He has an amazing ability to lighten the mood with a well-timed joke or sarcastic comment. But, at the same time, he is a great competitor who just hates to lose. In addition to being a character, John has developed quite a bit of character in the time I have known him. I know that with John, I can always expect honesty — no matter how brutal it may be — and that is very important to our program. John has done a great job in the last two years to commit himself to academic success. On the field, we converted John to an outside back. At times, I am sure he wished that he was still an outside midfielder, but he has done a great job to continue to work at it and do the things that we ask of him. He understands the game very well, and he has made a lot of suggestions that have helped our team on the field. John, I know that we didn’t always see eye-to-eye on some things, and there were times when we were not on the best of terms. But, it means a lot to me how you came into this season, and how our relationship is much better. You have earned my respect with everything that you have contributed to our program, and I am extremely proud of how you have grown since I have known you. Keep your personality and sense of humor, and the work ethic that you have displayed over the last couple years, and you will be very successful at whatever path you choose in life. |
