The Tommies enter today’s game riding a season-high eight-game winning streak. … With their sweep of Hamline, the Tommies locked up their 25th consecutive winning season and qualified for the MIAC playoffs for the 22nd time in the 22-year history of the format. UST has outscored its opponents 58-10 during its current winning streak. … After opening the season 5-8-0 in its first 13 games, UST is 9-1-0 in its last 10. … Nick Pernula, who scored two goals vs. SMU Friday, leads the team in goals (22) and points (43), while Nick Harris, who also had a pair of goals vs. the Cardinals, boasts a team-best 22 assists and is second in points (39). … UST boasts three players with 30 or more points and six with 10 or more. … UST has lost just three times 5-3 at UW-Stevens Point, 9-3 at Bethel and 7-3 at Elmira in 11 road games. … St. Thomas was the first current Division III institution to win 900 career hockey games. The Tommies erupted for four first-period goals and held off a late SMU charge to beat the Cardinals 6-4 in the first game of their two-game series at the SMU Ice Arena.
