The Saint Mary's University men's hockey team may have gotten left out of the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference playoffs, but the Cardinals certainly didn't get left out of the conference's post-season awards party.

SMU landed two players — forward Adam Gill (Rochester, Minn.) and goalie Dan Smith (Rochester, Minn.) — on the All-MIAC First Team, while Anthony Bohn (Spring Hill, Fla.) and Jeff Miller (Portage, Mich.) were named to the All-Rookie Team, and Bohn and David Gross (Grasston, Minn.) were honorable-mention All-MIAC picks.

A three-year letterwinner and the team's captain, Gill appeared in all 16 MIAC games for the Cardinals, who closed out the year with a 4-11-1 conference mark. Gill netted six goals and added four assists for 10 points.

Smith, meanwhile, was the backbone to the Cardinals' defense, starting 15 of SMU's 16 conference games, posting a 3.17 goals-against-average and a .904 save percentage. Smith's .904 save percentage was the third-best among MIAC goalies.

Bohn and Miller certainly made their mark during their first collegiate seasons, as Bohn led the team in assists (13) and points (17), and ranked third in scoring among the MIAC's freshman class, while Miller, a defenseman, chipped in six points (1 goal, 5 assists). Gross, meanwhile, finished second on the team in assists (8) and points (12) to join Bohn as an honorable-mention all-conference pick.

Gill, meanwhile, was also the Cardinals' selection to the All-MIAC Sportsmanship Team. As part of a conference-wide sportsmanship initiative, members of the All-MIAC Sportsmanship team are selected by their coaches and teammates as individuals who demonstrate ideals of positive sportsmanship both on and off the field of competition.
