The Pipers' 5-4 win over Lake Forest on Jan. 13 snapped a two-game losing streak. … Hamline has scored 25 goals in its five wins, but the Pipers have managed just 26 in their 11 losses. … After going 2-8 in their first 10 games — including a season-high five-game losing streak — Hamline has gone 3-3 in its last six games. … The Pipers have now played in four overtime games, going 1-3. … Two of Hamline's three OT games came against league-leading Gustavus, in which the Gusties escaped with 4-3 and 5-4 wins. … Dustin Fulton leads the team in assists (18) and points (24), while Steve Festler's 12 goals are also a team high. … The Pipers are 2-2-0 when scoring first, and 3-9-0 when their opponent scores first.

The Cardinals' win vs. Hamline was its season-high third straight. … SMU will be gunning for its second straight series sweep. SMU's sweep of Concordia was the Cardinals' first MIAC sweep of the season, and first since a pair of 3-2 wins over St. Olaf on Feb. 17-18, 2006. … Friday's game was the Cardinals' third overtime game of the season — and their first OT win. … After scoring just 12 goals during a seven-game stretch, the Cardinals have scored 18 goals during their current three-game win streak. … Matt Staehely (Shorewood, Ill.) netted his first collegiate hat trick vs. Hamline, and his overtime tally was his second game-winning goal of the season. … Anthony Bohn (Spring Hill, Fla.), who dished out six assists vs. the Cobbers last weekend — two on Friday and a career-high four on Saturday — added two more assists vs. the Pipers and now leads the team with 16 assists and 23 points. … Adam Gill (Rochester, Minn.) is the team's goal-scoring leader (10) and he and Bohn are two of seven Cardinals to have 10 or more points. … Mike Christensen (Detroit Lakes, Minn.), who posted the first two-goal game of his career vs. Concordia last Friday, netted his fourth goal in the last three games with the game-tying tally vs. Hamline Friday. … The Cardinals have now won five straight vs. the Pipers, dating back to a 3-2 loss on Feb. 21, 2004. …
