Gustavus broke open a scoreless game with four goals in the game's final 20 minutes en route to a 4-0 win in the first game of the teams' MIAC regular-season meeting a year ago. GAC completed the sweep a day later with a 5-3 win the following evening. … The Cardinals snapped an eight-game losing streak vs. Saint John’s with a 2-1 win on Saturday, but couldn’t complete the MIAC sweep, falling in the rematch, 6-3, on Sunday. … Gustavus, meanwhile, got back-to-back overtime goals from Jon Keseley in 4-3 and 5-4 wins over Hamline last weekend.

The Cardinals' 2-1 win over Saint John's on Saturday snapped an eight-game losing streak vs. the Johnnies. SMU's bid for their first MIAC sweep of the Johnnies since 5-2, 5-1 wins on Jan. 8-9, 1993, was thwarted with the Johnnies' 6-3 win on Sunday. … Anthony Bohn (Spring Hill, Fla.) moved into a tie for the team's points lead (12), scoring twice and adding an assist vs. the Johnnies. … Bohn has now scored a goal in three straight games, has recorded at least one point in seven straight games and has one or more points in eight of the Cardinals' nine games this season. … David Gross (Grasston, Minn.) netted his team-leading seventh goal of the season vs. SJU on Saturday. … A.J. Woodward (Lenexa, Kan.) netted his first collegiate goal vs. the Johnnies on Sunday. … Goalie Dan Smith (Rochester, Minn.) stopped 29 of the 30 shots he faced in Saturday's win, then stopped 43 of 46 shots in Sunday's rematch. The 43 saves were a season high for the SMU junior. … Four of SMU's seven goals vs. SJU came on the powerplay. … The Cardinals also surrendered a pair of shorthanded goals.

The Gusties’ four wins this season have all come in conference play — 2-1, 5-2 wins over Concordia and 4-3, 5-4 victories over Hamline. … Jon Keseley netted back-to-back overtime game-winners to lead GAC over the Pipers last weekend. Keseley scored 25 seconds into OT in Friday’s 4-3 win, then lit the lamp with 41 seconds left in overtime in Saturday’s 5-4 victory. … Keseley’s two goals vs. Hamline pushed his team-leading total to seven. The GAC senior also leads the team in points with 11. … GAC’s 4-3 Friday win snapped a three-game losing streak. … Five of GAC’s 11 games have been decided by one goal or less.
