Royal Notes
The Royals' win vs. SMU extended their winning streak to a season-high seven straight. … Bethel has outscored its opponents 37-13 during its current winning streak — including an 8-2, 7-1 sweep of Concordia and a 7-0 win over Hamline. … Bethel's seven goals vs. Hamline last Friday came from seven different players, while five different players accounted for the Royals' five goals on Saturday. That streak changed on Friday vs. SMU, however, as Kent Bostrom scored all three Bethel goals. …  After dropping four of their first five games, the Royals have gone 12-4-1 in their last 17. … Aaron Damjanovich stopped all 24 Hamline shots in posting the shutout win last Friday. It was the freshman goalie's third shutout of the season. … Nick Miller boasts a team-leading 22 points, while Steve Eastman is the team-leader in goals (9) and Jeff Balvin's 16 assists are a team high. … As a team, the Royals have scored 84 goals and 221 points, and boast 11 players who have 10 or more points.

The Cardinals and Royals split their two games a year ago, with Bethel's 5-3 win on Friday snapping the Cardinals' six-game winning streak and officially eliminating SMU from post-season play. SMU bounced back with a 3-2 OT win in the rematch.

With Friday's loss — the Cardinals' third straight one-goal loss — SMU was eliminated from the MIAC playoff picture. … Adam Fleishman (Vernon Hills, Ill.) and Karl Reinke (Duluth, Minn.) accounted for SMU's goals vs. the Royals, while Reinke also chipped in an assist for the two-point night. …After winning a season-high three straight in late January, SMU has now dropped four in a row. … Adam Gill (Rochester, Minn.) Gill currently leads the team in goals (12) and is second in points with 21, four behind team-leader Anthony Bohn (Spring Hill, Fla.) . … Bohn also leads the team in assists (17), and he and Gill are two of seven SMU players with at least 10 points this season. … The Cardinals have scored more than two goals just four times in their 14 losses this season. …  With Friday's loss to the Royals, the Cardinals are now 3-11-0 when their opponent scores first. … Five of SMU's seven wins have come at home — the Cardinals are 2-8-0 away from the SMU Ice Arena. … The Cardainls have scored just 22 goals in their 10 road games, while netting twice that many (44) on their home ice.
