Augsburg broke open a 3-1 game with four third-period goals in beating SMU 7-2 in the first game of their MIAC regular-season meeting a year ago. SMU turned the tables in the rematch, getting two goals and an assist from Tim McNamara in a 6-3 Cardinal win. … Augsburg’s Critter Nagurski scored with less than one second remaining in the opening period, and the Cardinals never recovered, as the Auggies knocked off SMU 4-2 in the teams’ MIAC opener Friday night in Minneapolis.
