SMU erupted for three goals in the second period and cruised to a 5-1 win over St. Scholastica in the team's regular-season meeting a year ago. … The Cardinals have not played since Dec. 10, when SMU dropped the second game of its MIAC series vs. league-leading St. John’s, giving up two goals in the first three minutes in falling to the Johnnies 4-1. … St. Scholastica got four assists from A.J.
