of the Week
Senior Curtis Nosal (Omaha, Neb.) picked up his first collegiate shutout and his first Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Player of the Week honor last week, after stopping 68 of the 69 shots he faced in Saint Mary's men' hockey sweep of Concordia.

Nosal made it 2-for-2 — twice — this past weekend, as the Cardinals' goalie not only notched shutout No. 2 with a 28-save effort against Hamline on Saturday, but also repeated as MIAC Player of the Week, it was announced Monday.

Nosal stopped 59 of the 60 shots he faced against the Pipers, turning aside 31 shots in SMU's 2-1 overtime win over Hamline on Friday, then following that up with his 28-save effort in a 3-0 Cardinal win on Saturday.

The sweep, which extended SMU's winning streak to a season-high four games, pushed the Cardinals' record to 5-7-0 in the MIAC and moved SMU into a tie with Bethel for the fifth and final conference playoff spot.

During the Cardinals' current winning streak, Nosal has stopped 126 of 128 shots, boasting a 0.51 goals-against-average and a .984 save percentage.

For the season, Nosal has appeared in 16 games, posting a 3.12 goals-against-average and a .913 save percentage.
