Cardinals' Reszka, Gill named All-MIAC First Team WINONA, Minn.
Four years, 100 straight games. Wednesday, Reszka kept another streak in tact, as the Cardinal senior was named to the All-Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference First-Team. Reszka, who was a first-team All-MIAC selection as a sophomore, and an honorable-mention pick a year ago, was joined on the 21-man first team by teammate Adam Gill (Rochester, Minn.). Reszka, a four-year letterwinner and the team's captain this season, was a mainstay on the blueline for SMU, scored two goals and added four assists in 16 conference games. Gill, meanwhile, was SMU's offensive leader, leading the team in all three offensive categories goals (11), assists (11) and points (22) as the Cardinals finished 8-8-0 in the MIAC. Gill's 11 conference goals rank the SMU junior fourth in the MIAC, while his two powerplay goals are No. 2 in the conference. For the season, Gill netted a team- and career-best 15 goals and 27 points in leading SMU to a 9-14-1 record, while Reszka ended his senior year with four goals, seven assists and 11 points. Curtis Nosal (Omaha, Neb.) and Tim McNamara (Hastings, Minn.) were honorable-mention selections. Nosal boasts a 2.82 goals-against-average and a .920 save percentage in 14 MIAC starts, while McNamara netted eight goals and added 10 assists to finish one point behind Gill in the team's points race. |
