| I have been dreading this part of my college career for quite some time. As my final competitive hockey season nears its end, I can’t help but to smile when I look back at all of the memories, excitement, friendships, hardships, and lessons this great game has provided me with. I feel very fortunate to have been able to compete at the college level, but most of all, to have been part of the Cardinal hockey tradition. First, I would like to thank my parents for all of the dedication and sacrifices they have made throughout my hockey career. Aside from hockey, you have also provided me with endless opportunities to succeed in life and I owe everything that I am today to you guys. I want you both to know that your love and constant support has always been strongly felt though out my life and today I cherish the time that we spend together more than ever. I will never be able to truly repay you for all that you two have done for me. Secondly, I want to thank my fellow teammates, both past and present, for all of the great memories. I can honestly say that each year I felt a great deal of pride in being part of this hockey organization. The friendships I have made are, without a doubt, some of the most valuable contributions hockey will ever provide me with. Thanks, you guys are the best! Next, I would like to thank the Saint Mary’s coaching staff for giving me the opportunity to play the sport that I love. The lessons that I have learned from each of you will surely extend well beyond the rink. Collectively, your commitment to this program is outstanding and has been a very important part of our team’s success. Finally, I would like to thank my girlfriend, Molly Chirico, for your steady support over the last four years. Both on and off of the ice, you have been my biggest fan and it means a lot to me. Thank you and I love you. I would also like to extend my gratitude to all the devoted students, faculty, and parents who attend each of our games. Without a question, the SMU fan support rates among the top of any other school in the MIAC, and we appreciate it. My Saint Mary’s experience has been great. Once again, thank you everyone that has been a part of it. |
