Adam Gill (Rochester, Minn.) scored two of SMU's three goals vs. Gustavus and has scored three goals in eight games since returning from a hand injury that sidelined him for the team's first 11 games.
Bill Flynn (St. Louis, Mo.) accounted for the Cardinals' other goal vs. GAC - it was Flynn's first of the season and first of his career.
SMU's 8-1 loss on Friday was its most lopsided defeat since a 10-1 drubbing at the hands of Augsburg on Feb. 11, 2000.
Four of GAC's 12 goals vs. SMU were on the powerplay.
SMU, meanwhile, was 0-for-10 with the man advantage.
SMU was outscored 2-1 in the first period of its two-game series vs. Gustavus, but the Cardinals gave up 10 goals in the second and third, combined.
SMU was outshot 74-42 vs. the Gusties - including 30-9 in the second period.
Mike Bry (Manvel, N.D.) remains the Cardinals' leader in assists (14 and points (19), while Adam Fingerhut's (Oak Brook, Il.) eight games are a team best.
