Hamline hands Cardinals fifth straight loss, 84-76

ST. PAUL, Minn. — Jerome Williams scored a game-high 22 points and led four Hamline players in double figures as the Pipers handed the Saint Mary's University men's basketball team its fifth straight loss, an 84-76 MIAC decision Wednesday evening.

Andy Bohnker (Story City, Iowa) netted a team-high 20 points — including an 8-for-12 performance from the free throw line — for the Cardinals (1-5 MIAC, 1-8 overall), while Jason Dzick (Duluth, Minn.) chipped in 14 points. Jason Boll (Sauk Prairie, Wis.) finished with 13 points and Nick Michaels (Dyer, Ind.) added 12 points and a team-leading six rebounds.

The Pipers, who won for the first time this season, also got 14 points from Mike Robison, 13 from John Simonsen and 10 from Chris Bloomquist.

After grabbing a 32-26 halftime advantage, Hamline shot 79 percent the field in the second half (15-for-19) and was 19-for-24 from the free throw line to hold off the Cardinals' charge.
