Wednesday’s loss to Augsburg extended Concordia’s losing streak to a season high seven games. The Cobbers’ last win was a 62-57 victory over Carleton on Jan. 24 — a win that snapped a five-game losing streak. … Luke Linz netted a game-high 21 points vs. the Auggies. Linz has now led the team in scoring and rebounding in seven straight games. He has also been the team’s scoring leader in 20 of the Cobbers’ 24 games this season. … The Cobbers have been involved in three overtime games this season, losing all three. … Nine of Concordia’s 21 losses have been by seven points or less. … The Cobbers are look to avoid its lowest win total since the 1997-98 sason, when Concordia went 3-21. … Concordia enters today’s game 0-14 when trailing at halftime.

SMU’s loss to Bethel Wednesday marked the first time since a 100-84 loss to Puget Sound on Nov. 17, 2001, that the Cardinals allowed 100 points in a game. It was also the most points scored against SMU since Concordia and Macalester poured in 103 and 105 points, respectively, in a three-game span in 1995. Concordia beat the Cardinals 103-58 on Jan. 16, 1995, and Macalester followed that up with a 105-99 decision on Jan. 18. … The Cardinal surrendered a season-high 14 3-point field goals vs. Bethel, and the Royals’ 54 first-half points and 46-point margin of victory were also season highs. … Brensley Haywood (Joliet, Ill.) will be making his 51st career start today in his final game as a Cardinal. Today’s game also marks the end of the collegiate careers of SMU’s John Gencius (Chicago, Ill.), Michael Batterman (Fond du Lac, Wis.) and Jack Nelson (Springfield, Ill.). … With their victory over Augsburg last Saturday, the Cardinals moved within one of their win total of a year ago — and the most wins since SMU went 11-13 during the 1999-2000 season. … The win vs. the Auggies was also SMU's fourth road win of the season — after going 1-12 away from home a year ago. … Haywood scored 12 points in Wednesday’s loss to Bethel, marking the 11th straight game in which the SMU senior has scored in double figures.
