Wednesday’s loss extended the Cardinals’ season-high losing streak to six straight — and officially eliminated SMU from the MIAC playoff race. … The Cardinals finished the season with a 2-12 record on the road. … After opening the conference schedule with a 61-56 win at Augsburg, SMU dropped its last nine conference road games. … Michael Batterman netted a team-high 16 points vs. the Knights Wednesday. … Terrence Smith was held scoreless against Carleton, snapping a streak of 12 straight games in which the SMU junior has scored in double figures. … It was also just the second time in the last 48 games that Smith has been held scoreless. … Smith, who boasts a team-best 12.0 ppg average, has scored 10 or more points in 18 of the Cardinals’ 23 games. … SMU’s nine wins are the most since the 1999-2000 season, when the Cardinals went 11-13.

Last Saturday’s loss to Carleton officially eliminated St. Olaf from the MIAC playoff race. … St. Olaf has been a team of streaks this season. They had a three-game winning streak in November, an eight-game losing streak (Dec. 10-Jan.14), a four-game winning streak (Jan. 18-Jan. 28) and have now lost four in a row and five of its last six. … Mark Bergstrom is the OIes’ scoring leader, averaging 12.ppg. … Jon Bain is also averaging in double figures (10.4 ppg), while leading the team in rebounding, averaging 7.4 boards per game. … St. Olaf has struggled offensively in the first half this season, getting outscored by 51 points, 811-760, over the game’s first 20 minutes. … Six of St. Olaf’s nine wins have come at home.
