Concordia swept its MIAC series vs. the Cardinals a year ago, winning 76-68 and 84-79. … Michael Batterman (Fond du Lac, Wis.) netted a team-high 12 points, but Concordia outscored the Cardinals 41-29 in the second half en route to a 70-58 victory in the team’s first meeting this season in Moorhead, Minn. … Macalester outscored the Cardinals 19-5 in the game’s final six minutes, as the Scots handed SMU a 66-56 setback Saturday afternoon. … Concordia shot a season-low 32 percent from the field in falling to St. Olaf 61-38 Saturday.

The Cardinals snapped a season-high three-game losing streak with their 84-71 win over Augsburg last Wednesday. … The Cardinals, who were held to 56 points vs. Macalester — their second-lowest offense output of the season — have not scored more than 64 points in eight of their nine losses. … Terrence Smith (Broadview, Ill.), who leads a trio of SMU players averaging in double figures with an 11.9 ppg average, scored a team-high 11 points vs. the Scots. … Michael Batterman (Fond du Lac, Wis.) and Brensley Haywood (Joliet, Ill.) are also averaging in double figures at 11.3 ppg and 10.4 ppg, respectively. … Saturday’s loss was SMU’s fourth in its last five games. … With Saturday’s setback at Macalester, the Cardinals dropped to 2-7 away from home. On their home floor, the Cardinals are 6-2 — including 5-2 vs. MIAC opponents.
