WINONA, Minn. Saint Mary's
University's Jimmy Wajda (Minneapolis, Minn.) was named to the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference All-First Year Team, it was announced Thursday.
Wajda, a freshman guard, averaged 7.7 points and 2.9 rebounds a game in helping SMU to a 6-14 conference mark the Cardinals' best MIAC record since the 1999-2000 season. Wajda also dished out a team-leading 42 assists and picked up 37 steals in 20 conference games.
Jeff Tendall (LeClaire, Iowa), the team's scoring leader (13.8 ppg in 16 MIAC games) was an honorable-mention All-MIAC selection.
