Running cross country for Saint Marys has been a highlight of my years spent here as a student. I have formed such meaningful relationships with my teammates and coaches, and am proud to have competed for the past three years. These past three seasons have been such of tremendous growth both personally, as well as athletically. I have worked hard with the help and support of those around me. Without the network of family, coaches, teammates and friends that I have had the privilege of being surrounded by, my experiences would not have been what they were.
I would like to thank my mom and dad for their continuous and unconditional love. Dad and Mom, you have demonstrated hard work and commitment in the lives that you lead, and have given me support and encouragement in all that I do. I have everything in the world to thank you for and I love you both with all of my heart. I would also like to thank Peter, my only brother. Thanks, bud, for your love and friendship. When I say that I couldnt imagine life without you, its true. You bring such joy and happiness to my life, and to our family. I love you.
Thanks, John, for three great seasons of coaching. You took me onto the team as an inexperienced runner, with little, almost no background, and worked with me to improve my running. To think of where I started and where I am now demonstrates my accomplishments in this sport. I know I couldnt have done it without your guidance and support. I appreciate you so much and will forever remember these years running for John Skemp at Saint Marys University. I cant wait to come back as an alumni runner.
To my teammates: You are the best! In joining the team as a sophomore, I knew little of what to expect but, you quickly taught me what being on a team is all about, and I treasure the runs and times that we have had together. Jenny, thanks for being there all the way, everyday. Erin, I will miss your smile and friendship. Keri, thanks for always giving it your all. As for the rest of you ladies I have loved running with you. Keep the traditions going on, and RUN FAST!
Lastly, I would like to thank my closest friends and roommates at Saint Marys. You have been there through it all, after good races and bad, hard runs and injuries. Knowing that you were there at the end of the day made it all okay. Fritz, Amy, Katie, Theresa, and Sarah, thanks for loving me and being there. I love each one of you so much, and will miss you more than I can say.
Being a part of the cross country team has given me the chance to experience running with a team, through Saint Marys beautiful trails. I will never forget these wonderful years.
