WINONA, Minn. — While the rest of the Saint Mary's University athletic department was busy complete final preparations for the upcoming 2006-2007 seasons, Cardinal baseball coach Nick Whaley was enjoying yet another round of golf.

And what a round it was.

Playing in an autism charity golf tournament, Whaley aced a 155-yard, par-3 hole at the Oak Marsh Golf Course in Lake Elmo, Minn., presumably using a nine-iron, although unconfirmed reports have it as a 3- or 4-iron.

The Cardinal head coach has already received numerous congratulatory phone calls from Tiger Woods (who called Whaley even before attending his own press conference after winning the PGA Championship) and Phil Mickelson, but don't hesitate to call him yourself — it's a safe bet Whaley would love to relive his miraculous shot again.
