After banging out 19 hits and scoring 11 runs in a pair of losses to Centenary College to end their spring trip on March 18, the Cardinals managed just 10 hits — including a season-low three in the opener — and four runs in dropping back-to-back games to Northwestern Tuesday. … SMU's 2-1 Game 1 loss marked the third time this season that the Cardinals have scored just one run in a game. … SMU has been held to three runs or less in five of its seven losses this season. … Brady Knudsen (Racine, Wis.) drove in two of the Cardinals' four runs vs. Northwestern — belting a sixth-inning double in Game 1, and a first-inning double in Game 2. Knudsen also had two of SMU's three Game 1 hits vs. the Eagles. … Knudsen has hit six of SMU's 14 doubles this season, leads the team in RBIs (7) and shares the team lead in hits (11) with Nick Winecke (St. Paul, Minn.). … Kyle Ryan (St. Paul, Minn.) had his season-best six-game hitting streak snapped with an 0-for-2 Game 1 effort vs. Northwestern.
