Cardinals' Dan Cosgrove named to All-MIAC team

WINONA, Minn. — For Saint Mary's University's Dan Cosgrove (South St. Paul, Minn.), the 2006 season was the perfect ending to a stellar four-year career, as he posted team- and career-highs in virtually every offensive category.

And Friday, Cosgrove capped things off with the highest of highs, a spot on the All-Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference team.

Cosgrove, SMU's lone representative on the 27-man team — and a first-time member of the All-MIAC squad — started all 20 MIAC games for the Cardinals, hitting a team-best .410 (25-for-61). He also collected two doubles, a triple and two home runs, while driving in 14. He boasted a .623 slugging percentage and a .486 on-base percentage, while also committing just two errors in 110 chances at first base.
