The Cardinals snapped a three-game losing streak with their 11-7 Game 1 win over the Royals on Wednesday.
SMUs 11 runs vs. the Royals were the most scored by the Cardinals in a single game this season.
The Cardinals 18 runs against in Game 2, however, were also a season high, and the most allowed by SMU since the Cardinals were beaten 22-11 by Ferrum College on March 27, 1997.
David Krieger (Mendota Heights, Minn.) has had one hit in each of the nine games hes played his nine-game hitting streak is a season high for SMU.
Matt RInk (Rochester, Minn.), who has reached base safely in all 19 SMU games this season, boasts a seven-game hitting streak and also leads the team in virtually every offensive category hits (29), triples (4), home runs (3), RBIs (23), total bases (49), slugging percentage (.742), and on-base percentage (.506).
Nick Winecke (St. Paul, Minn.) and Brady Knudsen (Racine, Wis.) homered for SMU vs. Bethel Wednesday, it was Wineckes third HR of the year, while Knudsens was his first collegiate round-tripper.
Matt Popek (Eagan, Minn.) tossed his first collegiate complete game, scattering 12 hits in SMUs Game 1 win over Bethel.
The Cardinals are unbeaten when holding their opponents to five runs or less and are 10-1 when scoring more than six runs.

St. Thomas Game Notes

St. Thomas has made the NCAA playoffs in nine of coach Dennis Dennings first 10 seasons, capped by second-place NCAA finishes in both 1999 and 2000, and the 2001 NCAA championship.
St. Thomas was shut out by Gustavus, 3-0, in Game 1 Wednesday. The Tommies had gone 115 games vs. non-Division I schools without being shut out since an April 2002 shutout loss at Gustavus.
St. Thomas is 66-6 vs. MIAC foes in baseball and softball in the last two seasons (38-1 softball, 28-5 baseball).
The 2004 Toms became the first team to win both the MIAC regular-season and postseason baseball titles in the five-year history of the format. UST has won the postseason tourney four of the five years its been held.
Jordan Roering had two homers and double in Wednesdays 11-2 win over Gustavus and in 10 MIAC games is batting .394 with 13 hits, 12 runs and eight RBIs.
Peter Brown is 2-0 with an 0.00 ERA in two MIAC starts and has allowed just two walks and five hits in 10 innings in combined road shutouts over Macalester and St. Johns.
