These four years sure flew by quickly! It seems like yesterday I was a wide-eyed freshman not knowing how I would fit in with college. I still remember going to my first college practice and giving it everything I had to prove I could play the game that I love. Not a day goes by that I don’t think about baseball and all of the wonderful people it has allowed me to meet, and places it has allowed me to see. I will always remember our trip to Miami, when 25 farmer-tanned guys ran across the beach and every person on the beach dropped their jaws.

I will remember all of the fun times I had with my roommates, Ian, Robbie and Jasken. Ian, thank you for making me a stronger man and being my best friend at school. We had some good pranks for Rob and Jasken. I also enjoyed our indoor bocce ball tournament — not to mention teeing off golf balls in our village. Rob, thank you for always being close to me. Jaskens, thank you for always being the neat one of the bunch, and for never turning us down at midnight when we asked to say, “short bus,” 100 times with your retainer in, just to get us to laugh.

To the rest of my teammates, I would like to thank you for all of the memories we have shared. I know some of you better than others, but still love you all like brothers. You have all been understanding this year, when I had to be home to see my child born, and your kindness will never be forgotten.

Coach, thank you for putting up with my humor and always putting your faith in the Wisconsin kid, not to mention all the jokes about farms and cows. Benji, we have become good friends over the years and I could think of one one else who I would rather have as a coach and a friend. You are truly a great person. I also want to thank you for busting out butts day-in and day-out. I can honestly credit you with me or the rest of the pitching staff never having to look back on college and wish we worked harder. Coach Mollner, thank you for the tacks in the weight room when you first came here, and for putting up and laughing at all the jokes we put you through.

To my parents, you are what has kept me working so hard these last four years. I wanted you to be able to look at me and smile and appreciate my accomplishments in school and baseball. You two are great role models to me and have taught me to never give up. Thank you for supporting me in everything I have done, and for pushing me to be the best that I can be. I could not ask for better parents. Your love for me has never been questioned.

Amy, you are the sunshine in my day. Thank you so much for sticking by my side through school and baseball. We have shared so many fun times and hopefully many more to come. I knew everyday that I woke up that back home you were there pulling for me to finish school so that we could be together more. Now, we have Zachary on the way and I know that our love and support for each other will rub off on him and he will be a good man someday.

To my brother, Jason, thank you for always pushing me in sports and keeping me out of trouble. All of the times you let me play sports with you and your friends has helped me be a stronger player. I have always followed your footsteps and I am grateful to you for being the best brother for me — and the best uncle my child could ever have. We still have to play catch again, now that we get to see each other more.

Finally, to my son, Zachary, you are not here yet, but you will be shortly. Since your mom and I found out of your existence, you have given me that extra drive to accomplish more with my life, to give you a better life. Every pitch that I throw, and test that I took, you were my motivation to never hold anything back. I really cannot wait to have that first game of catch with you.
