I remember back to my freshman yearm seeing those seniors celebrate their final home game, and thinking how sad this day must be. Wellm now I get to know the feeling first-hand what that senior class once felt.
There are a lot of people that I would like thank that have shaped me into the person that I am today.
First and foremost, I would like to thank my parents for all of the support they have given me over my career. I really appreciate all the games you came to over years. Its hard for me to remember a game that you two were not there to share the success or failure that baseball brings. Thank you for all that you have done for me, I love you! Secondly, I would like to thank my sisters. You two have always kept me humble no matter how successful or terrible my performance was. I thank you for all of those games that you have attended over the years, it has always been more exciting to be able to play a game when my family is there to cheer me on.
To those seniors who are celebrating this day with me, I would like to thank you for the memories and the chance to play a game that we all love. Seth, Aric, Rob, Nick and Tony, we have gone through a lot in our four years, some good and some bad. It has all been fun and the memories that we have shared together both on and off the field will stay with me forever.
I would also like to thank those players, who, four years ago, took me under their wings. Setts (Teresa), Scottie, Dave, Jamie, Ac, Weinandt, thank you so much, and congratulations to all of you but Dave on your weddings.
To coaches Whaley, Huegel, and Mollner, I would like to thank you for everything you have taught me about the game and life. It has been an up and down four years, but the one thing you have taught me is to enjoy the opportunities that the game brings forth as well as the opportunities that life brings forth.
To the training staff, thank you so much for trying to help me battle the injuries this season. It was fun getting to know you, Kevin and Lisa.
Last, I would like to thank my two closest friends. Tony, eight years ago we stepped on the field for the first time wearing the same uniform. For those eight years it has been a pleasure to play along side you. Finally, I would like to thank Amy for all the support that you have given me. Thank you for attending all the games you could even though the hole in my glove seemed to get bigger when you were there.
I once remember my older sister telling me before I left for college that if I do not like it, it is not forever. Well, she was right, the past four years seemed like they flew by, but now I am ready to start a new chapter in my life.
